What changed on this page. The earlier version was written as if by Honey Money itself and claimed that the casino runs on 100 % renewable energy, plants a tree for every major jackpot, has planted over 87,000 trees and uses 68 % less energy. We found no programme, partner or report behind any of this, so those claims have been removed; this page shows how to check such promises yourself.
What a credible green claim looks like
An environmental promise is only as strong as the evidence attached to it. A claim you can check names who does the work, gives a number you can look up and says when and by whom it was verified. A claim you cannot check relies on words like “green”, “eco” or “carbon neutral” and a nice picture.
| Question to ask | Credible answer | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Who is the partner? | A named organisation you can find and contact | “Our environmental partners”, no names |
| Is there a number? | A certificate or project number in a public registry | A logo or badge without a number |
| Who verified it? | An independent verifier named in the report | The company’s own statement only |
| When and for what period? | A dated report covering a stated year | An undated marketing page |
| What is covered? | A stated scope: servers, offices, travel | “Carbon neutral” with no scope |
How to check it in ten minutes
- Search for the named partner and see whether it lists the casino or the company behind it as a client or project.
- If carbon offsets are mentioned, look up the project in the registry the claim refers to; the large offset standards, such as Verra and Gold Standard, publish their registries online.
- Open the report and check the date, the period it covers and who verified it.
- Compare the company name in the report with the licence holder in the casino’s footer or terms; a report from another company says nothing about this casino.
What we found at Honey Money
Honey Money is run by 3-102-937046 SRL, a company registered in Costa Rica, under Anjouan licence ALSI-202509033-FI1. When we checked the site, footer and terms on 22 September 2026, we found no environmental programme, no named partner, no certificate number and no report. The figures on the old page, 100 % renewable energy, 87,000 trees and 68 % lower energy, therefore had nothing behind them. If the operator publishes a programme later, the checklist above is the way to judge it.
A green programme never changes the house edge
Planting trees or buying offsets is paid out of the operator’s budget; it does not touch the game rules. European roulette keeps 2.70 % of stakes over the long run and American roulette 5.26 %; a slot keeps 100 % minus its RTP, so 4 % on a 96 % RTP game. A “green bonus” is still a bonus with wagering requirements.
Be especially careful with promises tied to play, such as “a tree for every jackpot” or “every 100 spins plants a tree”. They reward playing more, and the expected cost of play is stake × number of spins × house share. 500 spins at €2 on a 96 % RTP slot means €1,000 staked and an average cost of about €40, which is far more than a tree costs to plant.
A practical takeaway. If you want to support an environmental cause, donate to it directly; it costs less than the house edge on the spins needed to trigger a casino donation. If you play, set deposit and loss limits in your account and never gamble on credit. If playing stops being fun, contact your national gambling support service; it is free and confidential.
The same checking habit works on game design and slot myths: what story-driven slots change and what they do not, and why there is no hidden pattern behind big wins.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an eco-friendly casino?
Usually an operator that says it reduces or offsets the environmental impact of its business, for example by buying renewable energy or carbon offsets. It is a claim about the company, not about the games, and it should come with a named partner, a registry number and a dated, independently verified report.
Does Honey Money have a green programme?
We could not find one. On 22 September 2026 its site, footer and terms mentioned no environmental programme, partner or report, so the renewable-energy and tree-planting figures on the old version of this page had no source.
Do green casinos pay out more?
No. What a game pays back is set by its rules and RTP. An environmental programme changes neither, and a green-themed bonus still has wagering requirements.
A green label is a claim like any other. Ask for the partner, the number and the report, and keep your limits in place whatever the marketing says.
